Director’s Notes

Hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season….ART/Presby Players had a artistic success with the December production called “A CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION” even though the winter storm hurt the boxoffice….The cast pulled together with only 3 rehearsals a beautiful reading of the CHRISTMAS CAROL and A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE….The new curtains created a “Black-Box” theatre and the seating platforms worked perfectly….I plan to return to the area May 8th to direct a reading at the National Arts Club on Monday May 10th called “THE LAST ACT IS A SOLO” written by Robert Anderson and recreating her role as”LAURA” will be OLYMPIA DUKAKIS…This reading will be my return to the NAC and it would be great to see everyone of you try to make it into the city to see it….Here in Portland I will be directing my old favorite CHARLOTTE’S WEB on Feb. 13th and 14th at the Beaverton City Library that has a 150 seat theatre…The cast of 10 readers are all connected with the Portland Festival Ballet (either a dancer or a parent of a dancer) and I am very excited about their level of talent and professionalism…In March I will workshop the reading of “THE LAST ACT IS A SOLO” in collaboration with the PORTLAND READERS THEATRE REP COMPANY (10 years of staged readings in Portland with union AEA and SAG professional actors) Known as RTR this is the only professional readers theatre company in Portland…so starting a good working relationship is vital….RTR has the resources and talent pool…ART has the New York City connections and experience …My final project before heading back home to Milford will be directing a reading of a play called “HAMMERSTONE” for the Portland Civic Theatre Guild on Tues. April 6th…The Guild was the first theatre company created in Portland….I’ve enjoyed meeting their Board and they seem to be very supportive helping me to cast the reading with professional actors.…I still can be reached at either my Milford number 570-686-4064 or my cell 917-902-4174...email remains the same:
