James Weis

James Weis has been sharing his knowledge with hairdressers and makeup artists since he was first asked to come on stage by L’Oreal at the age of thirteen years old.

To this day James is one of two hairdresser / makeup artists who has ever done both make up and hair for covers of Italian Vogue, French and English Vogue, L’Official and many other noted magazines.

He has worked with every superstar model and has been involved the runway make-up styles for almost all the known fashion designers in the US and Europe during his career.

James’ expertise goes far beyond makeup and hair. He has had his fingers in all aspects of style and design. In 1994 James developed and has been celebrated as luxury hotel owner while maintaining his place in the print industry. His innovative ideas as a host at Inn on the Blue Horizon in Vieques, Puerto Rico caused  his personal sense of style to have been written about in over five thousand magazine articles including Architectural Digest, In Style, Harper’s & Queen and all of the Vogue group.

In 2006James was inducted into the National Arts Club of America as the first and only hairdresser or makeup artist to be invited for membership. The club membership boasts such luminaries as Lynn Redgrave, Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Christopher Plumber, Sylvia Miles, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Jeffrey Stocker and other directors, writers and artists.

James originally had a second home in Milford and in the past several years has been spending more and more time in a community he has always loved and respected. In his own words “Milford was great when I lived here and it has gotten better with each passing year. The most interesting people have made this town their home and Milford is better for it.”

And now James shares his talent with A.R.T. in his favorite town of Milford, PA.
